Fri 09 Sep 2016 Parkwood Challenge - Day 1 Day 1 of 3 shooting for images to be entered into the Parkwood Challenge. This year, this competition has been changed to be an internal competition with an open theme. All members are invited to enter with three images taken any time over the three days of the event which will be judged on the 3rd October by Glyn Bareham LRPS CPAGB. Mon 05 Dec 2016 4 into 1 Challenge judged by Gary Carter CPAGB In a change from previous years, the club will not provide any images. As the emphasis in this competition is on your editing skills, you can use two to four images from any source as long as you don?t violate anyone?s copyright. This means you can use your own images (obviously), public domain images, images available for use under a Creative Commons licence or images that you have licensed for your use. Each member is allowed up to three entries. Each entry should consist of the composite image and a panel image showing the source images used.The judge will look for technical and artistic merit along with 'plausibility' so get that lighting right and don't forget about shadows! Mon 16 Jan 2017 Richard Walton print talk. CHOICES lecture - This talk explores the difference careful consideration of printer, software and consumables can make to print quality. Using his most recent images, comparisons are made using multiple prints on a variety of papers from the PermaJet range, from every day Gloss, Oyster and Matt, through to the specialist fine art and traditional baryta. Wed 09 Aug 2017 Field Trip - An evening photographing Jazz musicians in Faversham. Note the date is Wednesday 9th instead of Monday 7th so don't turn up at the club for the Monday! An outing to the Market Inn Pub, Faversham (on the corner of East Street And Park Road, ME13 8AT) to shoot - among others - our own Dave Belsham in action with his guitars. Gig photography has its own set of challenges and so this outing gives a great opportunity for members to learn the difficulties of lower light photography of moving subjects. Of course car sharing is a good idea so you can sample the beers on sale during the evening! Faversham
Sun 13 Aug 2017 Sunday Field Trip to Canary Wharfe ***In lieu of this weeksTuesday meeting*** The club is arranging to get a permit to enable us to go to Canary Wharfe for some street/cityscape/architectural photograpy. Members can car share or meet-up at the O2 car park and set out from there. As we are there, why not take in the barrier and maybe some beach photography for some really different perspectives on the fantastic London skyline? Low water is 14.54, high water 21.42 so you will need to be there late afternoon at the latest to use the beaches. Exact details to follow later. London
